NYE was great for the most part. I got dolled up because I wanted to bring the New Years in right and it really did set the tone for the rest of the year because I went out feeling confidant and people noticed it. Sid and I pre-partied at the house blasting the music, drinking up and hanging with the kids (Phoebe and Polar). I think I had 4-5 shots... One of Sid's Xmas gift to me was to see Craig Robinson at Cobb's Comedy Club (from The Office, which is show Sid and I both love and are addicted to. He's also in Pineapple Express and Knocked up.) Jason and Janine came over and we all went together. The opening comedians were pretty funny but Craig was very unique, incorporating his musical talents of singing and piano in with his act. I love to laugh so bringing in the New Year that way was a great idea from Sid! I love throwing surprises and he knows I like to be surprised so he tries so hard when surprising me and it was really right on the dot this time. He's truly learning how to put the effort into being an awesome bf. Not that he wasn't before, but I don't think he ever experienced this level in a relationship... Anyway, after the show, I saw the guitarist on stage so as everyone was leaving, I ran up to him like a groupie and asked if they were taking photo ops. He said no, but he'll see what he can do. I was playing innocent and saying pretty please haha So he told me to wait right there and he'll come back out. I waited and he came out and told me to go to a certain spot and Craig will come take a pic with me! I was so excited and then Craig came out and then his band came out and I got to take pix with them! He was so sweet to me too. He does act like his character on The Office, but then again, maybe he was just acting that night. But funny guy. It seems groupie-like of me, but hey, it really made my New Years! We had dinner there too, which was finger foods and a beer and Henn and Coke, but man, I was stuffed! Really, it was an all around simple yet fun way to start off the night!
Afterwards, we all walked to Broadway where I wanted to split up and hang with the girls at Horizons for a bit. Sid and them went to Fuse across the street. The girls were there for a 5-course dinner party and I just came by to hang out and have one Henn and Coke. Marrisa introduced me to a guy and when I shook his hand, he was like, "You're Alina right?" Turns out he met me in college when I went to buy a camera at his work at Circuit City! Small world! It was great to be reacquainted again! Had a blast taking photo ops, catching up and being silly. All of a sudden, I checked my phone and there were 7 missed calls from Sid haha I don't know how, but it was 11pm already and we had to head over to Dennis' house! Time flies when you're having fun...
So we cab it to Dennis' and meet up with all the folks from the year before. It was fun chillin and catching up. We counted down to midnight and then went to the rooftop as usual to see the fireworks. Afterwards, walked across the street to Red Jack Bar where Dennis decided to buy everyone a shot of Henney with no chaser and I think that's what did it for me. Some foreigner missed his flight and was stuck in SF and I got to talking to him and he bought me a beer. Sid got a little jealous off that and said they guy touched my back, which I really don't recall him touching me at all but it was cute that Sid got jealous off of something so innocent. (One time, we were in the club, and some guy tried to grab my arm and said Hey! and Sid push his arm and said Hey, NO lol) It's funny cause Sid's never aggressive so it comes off cute to me... And besides, all the Russian guy could talk about was missing his flight and he was looking forward to seeing his gf back home. He bought me some kind of Russian beer, which was interesting... Javy couldn't get in cause his id expired so we had to go back to the apt. Ended up only staying til 2 and then Sid and I spent the next 2 hours wandering around SF and got home at 4am. Didn't feel like 2 hours of roaming, but it was.
Needless to say, it was an entertaining beginning to the NY. I'm so glad 2010 is here! I can feel good things happening!
Jan 1 was spent throwing up and Sid and I being couch potatoes all day and watching Dexter. What a great start to the New Year, just relaxing with your loved ones. Started Jan 2 with a cracked voice and sore throat but Jan 2 and going forward will be spent being as productive as possible! Sid and I used to go to the gym every night, but had to stop for a few months when I had my surgery last year and was out of commission for awhile so we're gonna get back into that, which I'm really excited about! Alright, time to go be productive!
